ANN ARBOR — On May 11, the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan’s Kidney Squad will host FUN!: A Royal Oak Bar Sprawl. The event starts at Woody’s Diner, located at 208 W. Fifth Ave. at 3 p.m., and continues at various bars throughout Royal Oak until 8 p.m.

Kidney Squad is a group of individuals dedicated to having a great time while supporting the NKFM. The FUN! bar sprawl is the K-Squad’s first event that will raise funds for the NKFM’s kids prevention programs. These programs promote healthy lifestyle behaviors and physical activity education with the goal of preventing the onset of childhood obesity and other related chronic health conditions while improving kindergarten readiness. Every dollar raised by this event will be matched by federal funds.

The bar sprawl is being sponsored by The Rock on 3rd, 526 Piano Bar, Tequila Blue, Fifth Avenue, Mr. B’s Pub, BlackFinn, and Woody’s. After checking in and picking up a FUN T-shirt and map at Woody’s, participants can head over to any of these venues for drink specials. From 7 – 8 p.m., everyone is invited to finish up at BlackFinn for free appetizers and drink specials.

Tickets are $35 ($40 after April 20), which includes a FUN! T-shirt, a free drink at Woody’s, and drink specials throughout the day. Must be at least 21 years old with valid identification to attend this event.
