Motor City Wine Festival Announces Spring Schedule

Motor City Wine and Food Festival and the Oakland Literacy Council have announced their 2015 event schedule for the second Motor City Wine and Food Festival, providing fundraising support for adult literacy efforts in southeast Michigan.

Made With Love – 7 – 10 p.m. May 6
Owners, chefs, and graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, and Shanny and Bill Apodaca of Simply Good in Birmingham will provide guests recipes for a three-course menu and show them how to pair wine with each aspect of the meal. Seating is limited to 28 guests at $200 per person.

Culinary Magic – 6:30 – 10 p.m. May 14
Guests at Ferndale’s Assaggi’s will be treated to a four-course Mediterranean meal and wine pairings. There is limited seating at $150 per person.

Old-Fashioned, All-American, Yesteryear Family Outing – 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. May 16
Kite flying, three-legged races, cake walks, old-fashioned baseball, a food truck, and music will be available at the Van Hoosen Farm in Rochester Hills. Tickets for a family of four are $50; single tickets for adults are $18; children under age 18 are $12; and children under age three are free.
