Mitt Restaurant Celebrates Its Grand Opening

MT. CLEMENS — The Mitt Restaurant, Bar and Pizzeria in Mt. Clemens will host an opening celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 12. Owners Ken and Tracy Leonard opened the Michigan-inspired establishment in Spring 2012.

The restaurant, which seats 292, celebrates the tastes and sights of Michigan. The menu features house made Michigan comfort foods made by nearly all Michigan-sourced ingredients. Fare includes Greek, Polish, German and Italian favorites such as deep-dish pizza, pasties, pierogi, and stuffed cabbage.

The bar features 12 Michigan beers on tap and a variety of Michigan inspired cocktails and liquor.

During the event, guests can bring new or gently mittens or gloves for all ages to be donated to local nonprofits, the Friendship House and Family Youth Interventions. As a part of the restaurant’s “Mittens for Mt. Clemens” campaign, items donated will be matched, pair-for-pair, by The Mitt.
