Detroit’s Miller Canfield has announced that Gregory D. DeGrazia has joined the firm as a principal attorney in the Intellectual Property Group.

With more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property law, DeGrazia has focused his practice on protecting trade secrets and intellectual property nationwide and in Asia and Europe. Before he was a licensed attorney, he was an automotive manufacturing engineer.

“We’re thrilled to add a veteran like Greg DeGrazia to our strong and growing Intellectual Property Group. Greg’s experience in the automotive, automated and connected vehicles, manufacturing, chemical and environmental industries is a great addition that aligns perfectly with our strategic vision,” McGee said. “This is an area in which we have seen significant client demand, in part as a result of the burgeoning autonomous vehicle industry. Greg’s arrival follows the recent addition of patent agent Kathleen La Belle, who joined us in our Kalamazoo office.”

DeGrazia will work in Miller Canfield’s Detroit office. He earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University.
