Frederick Acomb, who heads the international disputes group for Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone PLC, a Detroit-based global law firm, has been appointed secretary of the International Bar Association Litigation Committee.
Acomb, of Birmingham, has prosecuted and defended international arbitration claims in several regions across the world as well as in automotive industry.
The International Bar Association influences the development of international law reform and shapes the future of the legal profession throughout the world. The IBA has a membership of more than 80,000 lawyers and more than 190 bar associations and law societies spanning more than 160 countries. The Litigation Committee is the second-largest committee in the IBA, with more than 2,000 members worldwide.
Acomb earned his bachelor’s in music performance from Northwestern University and his juris doctor from University of California, Hastings College of Law
