Rehmann in Troy, a fully integrated professional advisory firm, has welcomed Mike Ponke to the advisory and tax services team as a senior manager.
He will be based out of the firm’s Troy office where he will work with closely held businesses providing tax consulting and compliance, as well as helping businesses grow to their full potential.
“Mike began his career with Rehmann in 2009 as an intern and then served as a CPA Senior Manager with us for nearly 12 years, before leaving to explore opportunities elsewhere,” says Chris Morse, director of advisory and tax services at Rehmann. “He has a passion for working closely with clients and helping their businesses thrive, and we at Rehmann will benefit from his expertise and drive as much as his clients do.”
Prior to his new role at Rehmann, Ponke spent four years as vice president of finance for Huffmaster in Clawson. He is also an active member of the national and Michigan chapters of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
“I really enjoy working directly with clients and understanding a business’ growing pains and goals,” says Ponke. “Focusing on identifying solutions that will address a client’s immediate needs and benefit them long-term is what motivates me each day.”
Ponke attended Michigan State University in East Lansing where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He also has a master’s degree in taxation from Walsh College.
