MICPA to be New Acronym for Michigan CPA Association

1944

TROY — The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants has officially changed its acronym from MACPA to MICPA. The announcement was made by president and CEO, Peggy Dzierzawski.

The change was made for several reasons, including a desire to more closely represent the organization’s Michigan CPA members, to provide a fresh, updated look with a new logo, and to enable flexibility.

“The change to MICPA reflects how proud we are to be Michigan CPAs, and enhances the look and feel of our Michigan brand,” said Dzierzawski. “MICPA members have embraced the change, and all of us at the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants are confident the re-brand will help our mission to heighten the success of CPAs and their value to society.”

Along with the new acronym, the association has established a new website address, micpa.org. The old site address, michcpa.org, will continue to function, as will any emails sent to staff using the @michcpa.org domain.
