ROYAL OAK — Cary McGehee, a partner with Royal Oak law firm Pitt, McGehee, Palmer, and Rivers, has been named to the board of trustees of Michigan State University College of Law. Her firm specializes in civil rights and employment law and have won significant verdicts for clients in state and federal courts, said firm officials.
She is listed in “Best Lawyers” in America and Michigan Super Lawyers, has been named “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Public Justice Foundation, and won the “Lawyers for the People” award given by the National Lawyers Guild. In 2012, McGehee was named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly to its “Women in the Law” list.
McGehee is also a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and a member of Michigan Association of Justice, American Civil Liberties Union, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, and State Bar of Michigan. In addition, she serves as chair of the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights.
She is a graduate of Bowling Green University and Detroit College of Law.
