LANSING — The Michigan Restaurant Association has named Ted Behen and Jennifer Szewc to its board of directors.
Behen, president of Sysco Detroit, was voted to the MRA’s board of directors at the July meeting. He joined Sysco Detroit as a marketing associate in 1986. He was promoted to vice president of sales in 2007 and then to executive vice president in 2012. Behen was promoted to president of Sysco Grand Rapids in 2013 and was recently named president at Sysco Detroit. He resides in Rochester Hills.
Szewc is a joint venture partner with Outback Steakhouse and was voted to the MRA’s board of directors at the April meeting. Prior to relocating to Michigan, Szewc
spent four and a half years managing 14 Outback Steakhouse locations in New York City and Long Island. During that time, she served on the New York Restaurant Association board of directors and was a two-time Partner of the Year award winner within the Outback Organization. She resides in Davisburg.
