Michigan Real Estate Appraisers Name Board Chair

SOUTHFIELD — Brian Kirksey has been elected board chair for the State of Michigan Board of Real Estate Appraisers. He will serve a one-year term as chair and has been serving as vice chair since 2012. Former Gov. Jennifer Granholm appointed Kirksey a board member in 2010.

The board was created to license and regulate the services of real estate appraisers in Michigan, working with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to oversee the real estate appraisal practice. 

Kirksey of Rochester HIlls and a gradtate of Oakland University has been practicing forensic and valuation services at Plante Moran, a tax consulting firm since 2011, where he focuses on different aspects of real estate appraisal, consulting, and sales throughout the United States and internationally, advising on easement rights and real property rights.
