Businessman Rick Snyder, a candidate for governor of Michigan in 2011, has been advocating for change in Lansing and across the state. The political and government structure is clearly broken, given the inability of Gov. Granholm and the Legislature to deliver a balanced budget on time in two of the last three years — amid many other shortfalls. It’s time, he says, to ensure that taxpayers receive value back from their investment in government instead of fly-by-night accounting gimmicks and token lip service. His goal is to make Michigan a world class leader in innovation, job creation, and culture.
