LATHRUP VILLAGE — Michigan First Credit Union opened its first Kroger in-store branch on the corner of 26 Mile and Romeo Plank with plans to open four additional branches across metro Detroit in the near future.

“As our credit union continues to grow, we’re looking for new ways to provide convenient banking solutions for our members and the communities we serve,” Poulos said. “Our partnership with Kroger is the result of a shared customer service focus and passion for finding new and better ways to improve our member experiences.”

The credit union’s joint venture with Cin—based Kroger consists of an agreement to a multi-year contract, including an opportunity to expand into Kroger stores in coming years.

“Kroger is always looking to partner with local, customer service-focused organizations to give our shoppers more value when they come to the store,” says Ken McClure, consumer communications manage of Kroger stores in Michigan

The branch covers approximately 500-square-feet, includes savings, loan and investment support, and features an ATM.
