LANSING — The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs has released a new app that highlights various pieces of public art throughout Michigan.

The MI Amazing Art Tour app allows users to search various categories of art, including murals, sculpture, and architecture, from there the app will then lead them through a tour of those pieces, included in the search results. Other features include the ability to bookmark and “like” various tours on Facebook and exploring pieces of art within a certain radius of the patron.

Current tours include “Public Art in Jackson,” “Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright,” and “Treetown Murals.” New art tours are continually being added to the list, and patrons are welcome to contact the MCACA staff with art tour ideas.

MCACA is the first state arts council to host a statewide mobile art tour.  To download the app, click here.
