Michigan Business Leaders Among Finalists as Top Entrepreneurs of the Year

Mark St. Peter CEO and Managing Director of Computing Source in Madison Heights and Kent Sharkey, president, CEO, and founder of Troy-based Ulliance Inc. have been named finalists for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 Awards in the Michigan and northwest Ohio region.

The awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. St. Peter was selected as a finalist by a panel of independent judges.

St. Peter, far left, and Sharkey will be announced at a special gala event June 11 at the Cobo Center Grand Ballroom in Detroit.   

During the past two years, St. Peter of Royal Oak, has relocated the company’s headquarters to Madison Heights; expanded its Detroit location; successfully launched offices in Chicago, Ann Arbor, Birmingham, and Grand Rapids, and is creating a presence in Indianapolis; hired more than 100 employees; opened one of the largest data centers in the Midwest; and more than doubled the company’s service offerings to become an all-in-one source of support for law firms through the entire lifecycle of their cases.

St. Peter is a certified computer examiner, a certified fraud examiner and an associate member of the American Bar Association.

Sharkey’s entrepreneurial spirit began at a young age of 8 when he founded his first business. Sharkey, a University of Michigan undergraduate and graduate, formed Ulliance in 1990 to offer employee assistance programs, counseling, coaching, and crisis incident management services. In its 25 years under Sharkey’s leadership, Ulliance has grown its service lines to include wellness programs and training services, organizational and leadership development consulting, an ethics reporting hotline, and career transition services. Today, Ulliance serves 260 organizations, nearly 1 million covered members across 41 industries including Fortune 500 companies with record revenue in 2014.

EY Entrepreneur of the Year is among the world’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs.
