TROY —  The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants has named six female members as “Women to Watch” for 2014.

Three recipients — Margaret Amsden, shareholder at Clayton and McKervey PC in Southfield; Michelle Collins, vice chairman at Deloitte LLP in Detroit, and Dianne Wells, partner at Plante Moran in Southfield — were named Experienced Leaders. These individuals have advanced to a higher level or leadership position within their organization, authored articles, mentored other professionals, taken steps to improve their workplace, given back through public or community service, and/or contributed to the profession.

In addition, three women were named Emerging Leaders, including Amy Buben, senior manager at Yeo & Yeo in Saginaw; Samantha Hudson, senior staff accountant/CPA, at McBride Manley & Company in Marine City; and Brandy Terwilliger, senior manager of the tax department at Maner Costerisan in Lansing. The designation recognizes women who take part in public or community service, demonstrate leadership, create and implemente unique initiatives, and/or are involved with their alma mater or other local universities.

Winners were selected by the MICPA’s Women’s Initiatives Task Force and will be recognized at the organization’s Annual Awards Dinner in West Bloomfield on Sep. 30, 2014.
