FARMINGTON HILLS — Thousands of people everyday come up with an idea for a business that they think will be the next McDonald’s or HP. The problem is, they have no idea how to write a business plan, how to incorporate, how to get their business off the ground, or much less how to publicize their new venture.
Statistics show that as many as 85 percent of all new business start-ups close in their first year, and the reasons range from lack of experience to poor location, lack of managerial experience to having insufficient funds, and most importantly, lack of a solid understanding of business principles.
Farmington Hills-based Biz Forward, LLC will host the second of a three-session workshop series with a panel of experts that will provide potential and current entrepreneurs with the proper education and assistance to support and take their business to the next level. The Tuesday night seminars will be held at the Best Western Greenfield Inn, 3000 Enterprise Drive in Allen Park on April 16 and April 30. The cost for each session is only $30 and space is limited. Each session includes a meal, presentations, Q & A session and two open networking opportunities.
Session one was for enthusiastic entrepreneurs looking to start up a new business and entrepreneurs that have started a business that has been open for up to a year. Session two is for growth minded professionals that want to build their current business that has been active for between six months to five years. Session three is for practical business owners that have been sustaining their business for more than five years and want to take it to the next level.
“If you are the type of person with a true entrepreneurial spirit and a natural ability to become successful, you are already headed in the right direction, but may need some assistance to get you over the hump,” says Andrea Lee, one of the founders of MI Biz Forward and founder of Authentic Integrity Coaching. “With the Michigan Biz Forward Workshop series, our presenting panel of experts will offer practical advice and assistance to support the entrepreneur’s needs to take their business to the next level, whether it is a start up or five year operation.”
