DETROIT — The Housekeeping Department at MGM Grand Detroit has received the Chairman’s Service Excellence Award for the first quarter of 2014 from MGM Resorts International. The award was presented to the department at a ceremony presided over by MGM Resorts International Chief Operating Officer Corey Sanders and MGM Grand Detroit President and Chief Operating Officer Steve Zanella.

“One of the key values at MGM Grand Detroit is to provide unsurpassed customer service. The Chairman’s Service Excellence Award speaks volumes to the job we are doing, and I am proud of our Housekeeping Department for their hard work,” said Zanella. “Having two of our departments receive the award since last summer goes to show how we remain the market leader and Detroit’s only Forbes Four-Star hotel.”

The quarterly award program honors high performing departments that exemplify excellence in guest service. Each MGM Resorts International property submits one nomination for a department that has provided exemplary service throughout the quarter.

The winning department receives a trophy to display for the duration of the subsequent quarter, a celebratory event in their honor, and special features and recognition within employee communications.

This is the second time MGM Grand Detroit has won the award. MGM Grand Detroit’s Bell Services Department was the first MGM Resorts property outside Las Vegas to be awarded this recognition.
