Louis Theros has been appointed as vice president and general counsel for MGM Grand Detroit.
As a member of MGM Grand Detroit’s executive committee and the company’s internal legal counsel, Theros will be responsible for ensuring that business practices, policies and dealings of MGM Grand Detroit meet regulatory requirements. The position brings Theros in-house with a company that he previously represented as outside council.
Previously, Theros served as vice president and as a member of the board of directors at Detroit-based Butzel Long, following more than 20 years at Dickinson Wright. In private practice Theros specialized in the areas of employment litigation, labor, advising and counseling clients on statutory employment compliance and gaming law.
Theros is a member of the Grosse Pointe Farms City Council and is vice president of the Michigan Ice Hawks Hockey Association. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
