McLaren Health Plan in Flint, part of statewide McLaren Health Care and provider of health care benefits for hundreds of thousands of members across Michigan, has named Danielle Devine as its Michigan market president. Devine assumes this leadership position following the retirement of former President and CEO Nancy Jenkins earlier this year.
In this role, Devine will oversee all aspects of the health plan’s operations while developing and implementing growth strategies that will continue to provide for its members health care needs.
“Danielle is a dynamic and results driven health care executive who has a considerable amount of leadership experience in the health care sector,” says Jessica Cromer, group president and CEO of McLaren Integrated HMO. “She is committed to improving the lives of Michiganders and the communities that they live in. We are excited to have Danielle join McLaren and lead our Health Plan.”
Devine most recently served as the director of government relations for a large, Michigan-based health care system, where she advocated for the system while navigating regulatory complexities. She began her career with Meridian Health Plan, steadily rising within the organization and earning additional responsibilities, ultimately leading and providing oversight of the plan’s operations in the state. Following Meridian’s sale, she was recruited as a founding partner and vice president of operations at Apexhealth, leading the launch of a Medicare Advantage Plan.
Devine also brings experience in the public sector, previously serving as the director of legislative strategy and health policy for Mike Shirkey, who at the time was the Michigan Senate majority leader and influential in shaping its policy agenda.
She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where she earned her degree in health care administration.
