MCCA Names Kimberly Bezy as New Executive Director

The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) in Lansing has named Kimberly Bezyas the association’s new executive director.

The Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) in Lansing has named Kimberly Bezyas the association’s new executive director.

Bezy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role, having worked for more than 32 years in the insurance industry. She leads the MCCA, a nonprofit association that serves as the reinsurer for Michigan’s auto insurance companies.

Bezy previously has served in numerous executive leadership positions including the agribusiness commercial claim director for Nationwide Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa; the assistant vice president of claims at GAINSCO Auto Insurance in Miami the PIP and homeowner claim director at Meemic Insurance; and the national PIP manager for GMAC Insurance. Most recently, she served as the executive director of the Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility (MAIPF).

“I am very excited and proud to join MCCA’s team of experts and look forward to advancing the organization’s important mission and building upon its track record of success and financial stability,” says Bezy. “The MCCA plays an important role in the lives of Michigan consumers as well as the catastrophically injured and we take our responsibility very seriously. We also want to be a resource for policymakers and other stakeholders inside and outside of the insurance industry, so we preserve and enhance the financial stability of Michigan’s unique auto no-fault insurance system.”

Bezy is a Michigan native and earned her Bachelor of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan – Flint. She also holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and several other designations from The Institutes.
