Matt Nobis Named New U-M Health Regional Finance Vice President

Matt Nobis has been named regional vice president of finance for University of Michigan Health, where he will work with regional president Margaret Dimond as her key financial adviser in guiding the regional system that includes Sparrow and University of Michigan Health-West.

Nobis has served as director of finance/controller of Sparrow Health System since April 2020. In that capacity he created a forecast model for partnership discussions with U-M Health as well as overseeing more than $120 million in federal COVID relief funds, and serving as a contact with credit agencies, among other accomplishments.

He previously served as director of finance/controller for Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw and as director of internal audit at MidMichigan Health in Midland.

Nobis is also active in the community, serving on the board of directors of Sparrow Clinton Hospital, Sparrow Development Inc., and Ingham Health Plan, and on the advisory board of Mary Free Bed at Sparrow.

He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University in East Lansing and his MBA from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.

Nobis will work with Eric Strucko, chief financial officer of Michigan Medicine, and report to Bobby Hewlett, Michigan Medicine’s corporate controller.
