DETROIT, March 2, 2009 – Mark Neithercut, principal of Neithercut Advisors LLC of Detroit, has been appointed to the Steering Committee, which functions as the board, of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers, the largest trade association in the nation to bring together consultants dedicated to increasing and strengthening the practice of philanthropy.

Founded in 2006, the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers’ mission is to increase the effectiveness and capacity of grantmakers by mobilizing and strengthening the work of knowledgeable, ethical, and experienced consultants. Some grantmakers find it increasingly challenging to identify experienced, ethical, high-quality consultants. NNCG recently launched a new Directory of Consultants, a free on-line resource for the philanthropic sector, at www.nncg.org.

Neithercut, founder of Neithercut Advisors, advises private, family and community foundations, as well as charitable individuals, on optimizing the impact and results of their philanthropy.  He says that more foundations and individuals are seeking out philanthropic advisers to help them develop a long-term, strategic approach to grantmaking.

“We are delighted to have Mark join the NNCG Steering Committee. He contributes a depth of experience, rigor and commitment to the philanthropic community,” said Lee Draper, NNCG chairperson and president of Draper Consulting Group.  “He is a great asset to the development of our national organization and its broad range of resources to grantmakers and philanthropists.”
