MOUNT CLEMENS — John Paul Rea has been appointed to serve as Macomb County’s assistant county executive.
Rea, a lifelong resident of Macomb County, has served in the county’s planning and economic development department for nearly 10 years. Most recently, he held the position of senior planner, orchestrating municipal planning services, developing quality-of-life initiatives and supporting the County Executive office in pursing major community and economic development opportunities.
Rea received his Bachelor of Science in political science and his master’s in public administration at Grand Valley State University.
