Washington Township, MI – June 2, 2010. Amid positive signs that new housing demand is slowly beginning to pick up across the country, Lombardo Homes’ dedication to the Michigan housing market has been recognized with a place among the top builders in the nation.
A family-owned and operated company for nearly 50 years, Lombardo Homes was recently ranked #97 on Builder Magazine’s Builder 100, an annual list released in May by the industry’s leading trade journal. Lombardo Homes moved up from #143 in last year’s edition. Rankings are calculated based on closings and revenue, numbers that continue to show growth for Lombardo Homes in an otherwise tumultuous economy.
Despite a challenging housing market for new construction, Michigan’s largest privately-held homebuilder placed in the Builder 100 for the first time, and led the industry with the greatest percentage increase in closings. Lombardo Homes was only the second Michigan builder to make the prestigious list of the top 100 builders in this edition.
It’s an accomplishment that Lombardo Homes’ president, Anthony Lombardo, says is due in no small part to the company’s commitment to quality craftsmanship, superior design and exceptional value. “Early on, when we began to see the first signs of trouble in the housing market, we began to adjust our products and price points,” explained Lombardo. “By focusing on unmatched affordability, we’re proud to have brought back the excitement of buying a new home for buyers who previously might have only considered a pre-owned home or foreclosure.”
Lombardo Homes’ inclusion among the nation’s top 100 builders underscores its success in building a variety of home styles that appeal to a diverse group of buyers. The company’s lifestyle-focused neighborhoods and award-winning floor plans are offered in over 30 southeast Michigan communities, encompassing the counties of Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Livingston and Monroe. Many Lombardo communities include swim clubs, fitness centers, sports fields, tennis courts, tot lots, clubhouses with saunas and spas, and miles of sidewalk and paths – making them truly exciting places to live.
