Local Heating Company Named Finalist In Work Wear Contest

DETROIT — Detroit Environmental Solutions — a Fraser-based commercial heating, ventilation, and air-condition company — is one of the 12 finalists in the national Cintas & Carhartt Tough Crew Contest.

The contest, which is designed to recognize teams, encourages individuals to share how their crews “outwork them all,” and explain why they rely on Dearborn-based Carhartt. Voting takes place on the contest website through Friday, and winners will receive $2,500 in free work wear.

Tina DeSandra, co-owner of Detroit Environmental Solutions, described the extreme weather conditions her crew has faced while servicing high-rise buildings in the Detroit area for nearly 30 years in her entry for the contest.

“We’ve heard great stories about North America’s workforce through our previous contests with Carhartt,” says John Rudy, senior marketing and strategy manager for Cintas Corporation. “We look forward to opening it up to groups that work in tough conditions year round and in all types of climates.”

Other finalists include: conservation aids (Forest Hill, Md.), bridge builders (New Palestine, Ind.), locomotive engineers (North Adams, Mass.), landscapers (McSherrystown, Pa.), commercial fishers (Kenai, Ala.), and more.
