Livonia’s Citizens Research Council Appoints Varnum Lawyer as New Member

Livonia’s Citizens Research Council, a public policy research organization, has appointed Tom Kyros as a new member on its board of directors.

Kyros, an estate planning attorney of Varnum’s Grand Rapids office, has more than 25 years of experience creating and implementing estate plans and advising family business owners. He has worked many leadership positions throughout his time at Varnum, including six years as executive partner and as a member of the firm’s policy committee.

Throughout West Michigan, Kyros works on several nonprofit organizations as a trustee and adviser, including for the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital Foundation and Grand Rapids Community Foundation. He formerly served the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation, Hope College Alumni Association, and Heart of West Michigan United Way.

The council focuses on issues concerning state and local organizations, and the board of directors is the policy-making body of the council. Its objective is to create a government that is efficient, accountable, and equitable by providing accurate, unbiased, independent information concerning state and local government organization and finance.
