
The Detroit-based BasBlue Foundation, committed to improving women and non-binary individuals’ economic mobility and leadership skills, hired Lisa Whitmore Davis to serve as director.
Whitmore Davis will lead driving the development of programming and maintaining and increasing fundraising goals.
“I am honored and excited to lead the BasBlue Foundation working to strategically grow its endowment, launch transformational programs that help women build social capital, and amplify skills that empower them and our community,” says Whitmore Davis. “I look forward to developing relationships with the staff and implementing impactful programs for the foundation and community.”
Whitmore Davis has more than 25 years of experience in government, higher education, and nonprofits such as AARP, Wayne County, Wayne State University, Focus: HOPE, and the Michigan Senate.
Whitmore Davis uses her personal experiences of working with nonprofits, philanthropic groups, private sector organizations, county, and state government to improve the lives of people and projects in marginalized communities.
Whitmore Davis graduated from Wayne State University with a certificate in nonprofit sector management and a Bachelor of Arts in human resources and community relations from Michigan State University. She went on to earn her Master of Public Administration degree from Central Michigan University.
