The Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority announced it has named Lisa Canada as chair of its board of directors.

“It is a tremendous honor to have Lisa serve as our board chair,” says Patrick Bero, CEO and CFO of the DRCFA. “Lisa’s strong leadership has had a significant impact on the success of TCF Center and her talent is recognized throughout the state of Michigan. Equally important is the continuation of leadership based on trust with the members of the Authority, their counties, the legislators and our community.”

Canada serves the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights as its legislative director. The DRCFA is the governing body for Huntington Place in Detroit (formerly TCF Center and Cobo Hall), a nationally recognized convention center.

She has more than 25 years of experience working with organized labor, politics, and government affairs. In addition to her leadership with the DRCFA, she serves on the Executive Board of Labor’s International Hall of Fame and the Michigan Labor History Society.

“I am honored to have the trust of my fellow board members and to continue the great work under the leadership of Larry Alexander for 12 years of growth and transformation of the Center,” says Canada. “I look forward to continuing to build the Center as a gathering place for visitors, jobs and innovation for our region.”
