LG Chem Power Names New CEO

Troy-based LG Chem Power Inc. has named Denise Gray as the firm’s new CEO.

Gray most recently served as vice president of Electrification Powertrain Engineering at AVL List, GmbH, where she was responsible for AVL’s Electrification Business Unit.

Previously, she was director of Global Battery Systems Engineering at General Motors, where her team developed and launched the lithium-ion battery system used in the Chevrolet Voltt, working closely with the LG Chem team. The Volt uses LG Chem battery cells produced at the company’s plant in Holland, Michigan.

Gray earned her Bachelor of Science in engineering from Kettering University an her Master of Science in engineering management of Technology fom Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
