GROSSE POINTE PARK — The Robot Garage, a LEGO and robotics toy store, will open to the public on Aug. 1 in Grosse Pointe Park.

“Children love to invent,” says Sarah Jacobs, founder of The Robot Garage. “Ask them if they’ve ever had an idea of something they could create to make the world a better place or think of a way to make something more fun? Every hand goes up.”

Located at 15201 Kercheval Ave., the toy store is the third facility of its kind, joining storefronts in Birmingham and Rochester Hills.

The Robot Garage offers free drop-in activities with LEGO and robotics, along with demonstrations and workshops.

Since opening in 2011, The Robot Garage has been recognized as one of the top 10 Lego specialty stores in the country and was one of 12 national recipients of the Chase Mission Main Street program, winning a $250,000 Small Business Grant.
