Winning Futures, a nonprofit organization that aims to empower teens to be successful in a career based in Warren, announced Todd Kennedy, vice president of global GM seating for Lear Corp. in Southfield, has been named to its board of directors.
“Being a father, I understand the importance and desire to prepare teens to be self-sufficient, productive members of the community,” says Kennedy. “Through education and mentoring we can empower these future leaders with the necessary life skills to tackle any opportunity or challenge they encounter.”
The programs offered by Winning Futures include job readiness training, life skills development, strategic planning, mentoring, and scholarships.
Kennedy interned at Lear in May of 1996 and has been there ever since. In 2017, he was named vice president of its GM business unit. Prior to this position, he was the managing director of Lear’s Italian business unit.
“We’re thrilled to have Todd join our board,” says Kristina Marshall, president and CEO of Winning Futures. “He brings with him a wealth of experience in business growth and employee development – both very closely related to our mission. He understands the critical nature of our work and he’s ready to jump in.”
