DETROIT — Ilitch Holdings, Inc. Vice President of Corporate Relations Karen Cullen announced Monday she will step down from her position at the organization at the end of July. The company will begin a search for Cullen’s replacement.
“I have had a wonderful experience at Ilitch Holdings,” Cullen said. “This is very much a personal decision for me. I’m proud of my professional accomplishments throughout my career, and I am grateful for the many wonderful opportunities I have had and the incredible people I’ve worked with over the years.”
Cullen joined Ilitch Holdings in September 2005 and held numerous communications and public relations positions with General Motors and Delphi during her career. She has served as president of Ilitch Charities for the last five years, and she will step down from that role as well.
“I have especially enjoyed the opportunity I’ve had the last seven years to work for Mike, Marian, and Christopher Ilitch,” Cullen said. “But now, the time is right for me to spend additional time with my family, especially as my three sons navigate middle school, high school, and beyond, and I’m excited about having that opportunity.”
“Karen has brought tremendous value to our organization by taking on a variety of roles and responsibilities and building a great team around her,” said Christopher Ilitch, president and CEO of Ilitch Holdings, Inc. “She is an extremely professional and well respected leader who will be greatly missed by our entire organization. While we are disappointed to lose someone as talented as Karen, as a father of three small children, I appreciate and respect her desire to spend as much time as possible with her children. We wish Karen and her family the very best and thank her for all of her hard work and accomplishments during her time with us.”
