DETROIT — Land Assembly for Neighborhood Development, a not-for-profit Eastside-Detroit developer, announced the appointment of Jacqueline Bejma as its first executive director in the organization’s 13-year history. Bejma will be responsible for overseeing LAND Inc.’s portfolio of properties as well as the development and implementation of new, innovative projects that are in line with the recently completed Detroit Future City Strategic Framework.

Maggie DeSantis, LAND Inc board member and Warren/Conner Development Coalition CEO commented, “For the past 13 years as LAND Inc.’s portfolio and property management responsibility has grown, it’s important for the organization be competently led by a full time executive. We are thrilled that Jackie has accepted this important position and optimistic that she will lead LAND Inc. to even more innovation.”

Bejma, a Southeast-Michigan native and a current Detroit resident, worked previously as LAND Inc.’s commercial revitalization manager, and prior to that was small business development manager at Business Outreach Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. for four years before joining LAND Inc. in May 2012. She holds a Master of Science in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development from DePaul University.
