KPMG Detroit Names New Managing Directors

DETROIT — Four new managing directors have joined the Detroit office of KPMG LLP. The new employees will expand the firm’s expertise in several key areas, including federal tax, industrial manufacturing, and automotive. They include Bill Diehl, Guy Morgan, Jennifer Heckman and Ajai Vasudevan.

As an Advisory managing director, Diehl will co-lead Detroit’s Transactions and Restructuring practice. He has more than 30 years of experience leading and consulting with global companies on complex corporate turnarounds, restructurings and rebranding efforts.

Prior to joining the firm, Diehl served as president and CEO of BBK, a global restructuring advisory firm based in Detroit, which KPMG LLP recently acquired. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Wayne State University and a Master of Arts in Business degree from Central Michigan University. Diehl is a CPA and certified turnaround professional.

Morgan joins KPMG as advisory managing director in KPMG’s industrial manufacturing – automotive practice. He has more than 40 years of experience in plant, operational, and advisory industry sectors. Morgan also joins KPMG through the recent acquisition of BBK, where he served previously as Advisory managing director.

He earned a bachelor of business administration degree in business from Western Michigan University and a Master of Arts in operations management from Central Michigan University.

Heckman joins KPMG as a managing director in the federal tax practice. With more than 20 years of experience in global tax and treasury, she will serve as the tax lead on several significant accounts. Most recently she served as vice president, global tax and treasury at Dura Automotive. Heckman earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Michigan State University and is a CPA.

Vasudevan joins the firm as advisory managing director in KPMG’s industrial manufacturing – automotive practice. He has significant experience working at several top consulting firms and companies, serving a wide range of automotive clients. He joins KPMG from Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he served as a senior manager, automotive and industrial products.

Vasudevan holds a MBA from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Mangalore University, India.
