Kirco, a construction company, has completed the redevelopment and construction of its Americas headquarters for DSM Engineering Plastics, a global supplier of polyamide engineering plastics, located at Columbia Center campus in Troy.
“Together, we transformed a prime location at Columbia Center into a state-of-the-art, collaborative, and truly inspiring workspace for DSM,” says Matt Kiriluk, president of Kirco. “The conversion of the workspace will not only benefit DSM’s clients, but also largely impact DSM’s personnel through the continued fostering of productivity, recruitment, and retention.”
Kiriluk says Kirco and Kirco Manix, a construction services division, converted the 31,000-square-foot building into headquarters, completing the project in five months. Demolition of the facility previously occupying the space began in August 2015.
The plastics supplier relocated from its office in Birmingham, says Richard Pieters, president of DSM Engineering Plastics’ Americas.
Pieters says a proposed adjacent space is being developed as a dedicated Application Development Center to be used for material testing, automotive plastics research, and technology development.
