Kimmel Scrap Iron & Metal Names New President and COO

DETROIT — Robert Kimmel has been named president and CEO of Kimmel Scrap Iron & Metal Co., a provider of recycling and re-use of industrial metals, after the passing of his father, Morris H. Kimmel.

Robert, far left, had served as vice president in the family run business.

The company also announced that Ken Schutt has been hired as Chief Operating Officer for the corporation. Schutt has more than 10 years of experience with other companies in metals management. Kimmel added that Schutt was hired as the company continues to grow and expand its operations and reach nationally and internationally.

Kimmel Scrap Iron & Metal is celebrating its 65th year in Michigan recycling scrap metal for industrial purposes. The company has been a pioneer in establishing customer screening and identity laws to reduce theft of metals.
