Kidney Foundation Plans Annual Fundrasier at MGM Grand

DETROIT — The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan will be holding its ninth Annual Kidney Ball, themed “A Midwinter Night’s Dream,” on Dec. 7 at the MGM Grand Detroit.

Last year’s Kidney Ball was able to raise over $600,000, helping more than 900,000 Michigan residents living with chronic kidney disease. This year’s event is expected to attract more than 700 attendees.

The ball will include live music from the Jerry Ross Band, food, and cocktails with a beer and cheese tasting lead by Founder of Blue Moon Brewing Company, Keith Villa.  Special guests include former Detroit Lion Lomas Brown, Duane McLean, executive vice president of business affairs for the Detroit Tigers, serving as Honorary Chair, and Jason Hall, national sales director of Title Source is this year’s Event Chair

The cocktail reception will begin at 6 p.m., with the VIP reception being held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. outside the Grand Ballroom. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. followed by a silent auction, music and dancing.

“With so many challenges in our state, things are not likely to get easier for people with kidney disease and the many people at risk. Supporting the Kidney Ball will give us the opportunity to continue helping to prevent and manage kidney disease, and raise awareness about its leading causes,” said Dan Carney, president and CEO. “We invite everyone to support an organization whose mission truly is to make a difference and improve the lives and health of Michigan residents.”
