Kerr Russell adds Robert Anderson, Kenneth Lombardo as New Partners

Detroit law firm Kerr Russell has announced that Robert S. Anderson and Kenneth R. Lombardo have been selected to become partners of the firm, effective Jan. 1.

Anderson has experience in employment-based immigration and representation of local, national, and international companies in obtaining authorization for employees to work in the United States, permanently or temporarily. He works with companies ranging from fortune 500 corporations, to non-profit organizations, to start-up enterprises in various industries.

Before joining Kerr Russell, Anderson was a senior attorney in the Immigration Law Practice of Miller Canfield. He also has been the managing member of Robert S. Anderson and Associates. He holds a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and an L.L.M. from Wayne State University Law School. His undergraduate degree is from Michigan State University.

With more than 20 years experience in corporate and business law, Lombardo focuses largely on mergers and acquisitions, business law, federal and state securities law, taxation, and estate planning.

Lombardo corporate and business law practice includes choice of entity and business formation, shareholder voting and buy-sell agreements, asset and stock sales, mergers, recapitalizations, joint venture agreements, joint development agreements, license agreements, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and public and private equity and debt capital raising transactions. 

Before joining the firm, Lombardo served for 10 years as general counsel for a NASDAQ listed public company involved primarily in the automotive, trucking, and alternative energy sectors, and was also a member of the company’s executive management team.  He ensured the company’s compliance with all aspects of the company’s legal affairs.

He is a certified public accountant and, before beginning his law career, spent six years in the audit and tax departments at Deloitte and Touche. He holds a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and a bachelor’s degree is from Central Michigan University.
