Karmanos Cancer Hospital Names New President

DETROIT — The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute has named Margaret Dimond as president of the Karmanos Cancer Hospital.

 “She brings a wealth of experience including strategic operational expertise, oversight of ambulatory services and staff, and substantial compliance and financial acumen, just to name a few of her qualities,” said Gerold Bepler, president and CEO of the Karmanos Cancer Institute. Her leadership skills are aligned with our vision to be a world leader in cancer care, research, and education through courage, commitment and compassion.”

As president, Dimond’s responsibilities include managing all clerical operations at Karmanos in Detroit, Farmington Hills and Monroe. She will also develop cost effective programs and integrate Karmanos’ strategic plan with all operations. 

Dimond previously served as president and CEO of the McLaren Medical Group.

Dimond earned her bachelor’s from Saint Mary’s College. She received a master’s in public  administration from the University of MIchigan and a master’s in social work from Boston College. Dimond earned her doctorate from Michigan State University.
