Joel Nickel has joined the construction firm Barton Malow in Southfield to lead the firm’s mission critical market group.
In his role, Nickel will work to elevate and improve Barton Malow’s presence in the mission critical and data center construction market. He will lead work acquisition, operations, and the development of future market strategies, relationship building, and growth opportunities for this emerging market.

Prior to joining Barton Malow, Nickel served in an executive leadership position at Suffolk Construction in Boston. He spent his last two years there as a vice president and executive director of mission critical, where he was tasked with growing and diversifying Suffolk’s presence in the emerging building market.
With more than 20 years of experience building teams and a history of developing new market segments, his expertise is expected to up additional construction opportunities for Barton Malow.

Nickel is based out of Barton Malow’s Southfield headquarters but will work to support Barton Malow’s national operations.
