Jenkins Resigns Detroit City Council, Named New CEO of THAW

DETROIT — The Heat and Warmth Fund board of directors has named Saunteel A. Jenkins as its new CEO.

Jenkins has served as a member of the Detroit City Council since January 2010. Her background includes extensive experience in social work, community health, education, and government. She will officially take over duties of CEO of THAW effective Nov. 10.

Her appointment was arrived at after a formal search conducted by DHR International as well as candidate interviews by the Leadership Development Committee of the Board of Directors as well as members of the THAW Executive Committee.

In her role, Jenkins will lead the organization which assists thousands of individuals annually throughout the state, providing energy assistance as well as other support services for low-income households.

THAW is an independent non-profit that provides emergency energy assistance to Michigan residents in need and advocates for long-term energy solutions.
