Jeff Caponigro of Southfield’s Caponigro Public Relations, Troy’s Trion Solutions Named to PRSA Detroit Hall of Fame

Jeff Caponigro, founder and CEO of Caponigro Public Relations in Southfield and executive vice president of corporate communications and chief marketing officer at Trion Solutions in Troy, will be inducted into the Public Relations Society of America – Detroit Chapter’s Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

A ceremony will take place at The Community House in Birmingham. The hall of fame is the highest honor the Detroit chapter bestows.

Caponigro has been in public relations for 40 years and has been founder and CEO of Caponigro Public Relations for 24 years.

He is the author of “The Crisis Counselor: A Step-by-Step Guide to Managing a Business Crisis,” a book used in more than 100 universities worldwide and sold in five languages.

He also earned the Silver Anvil, the Public Relations Society of America’s highest national award, for the public affairs program to encourage safety belt use laws in 48 states and increase national use by 300 percent. The multi-year program was named one of the 20 Greatest PR Campaigns by PR Week magazine.

Caponigro earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism and English from Central Michigan University. He has been inducted into the Public Relations Society of America’s College of Fellows.

The annual meeting and induction will include a reception, networking, dinner, and a program. The event will also include an election of the 2020 PRSA Detroit officers and directors, recognition of newly accredited members, and a scholarship presentation. Tickets are $65 each and available here.
