Non-profit healthcare network Ascension Michigan today announced Jean Meyer as COO, effective Aug. 1.
Meyer will be responsible for developing and managing the organization’s system of care. In her new role, the COO will serve in a dyad relationship with Dr. Donald D. Bignotti, chief clinical health officer for Ascension Michigan.
She has been serving as CEO of St. John Providence, a division of Ascension, since 2011. Meyer has more than 27 years of experience working in healthcare, and prior to joining St. John Providence, served as president of Providence Park Hospital from 2008-2011.
Meyer earned a bachelor’s degree in public health education from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at Loyola University in Chicago.
