The Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine (RCBM) in Rochester Hills has promoted Jaime Saal to the position of CEO.
RCBM was started in 1993 and Saal joined the organization as a therapist in 2003 and soon after, assumed the role of executive director. RCBM is an outpatient behavioral health clinic dedicated to improving the quality of life for their patients by combining psychotherapy with medication and nutrition management to alleviate suffering.
Over the last two decades, Saal and Dr. Joel L. Young, founder and medical director of RCBM, along with Mindy Layne Young, have overseen the growth of RCBM into a practice with more than 100 employees.
“During this rapid growth, Jaime has upheld RCBM’s values, and cultivated a welcoming and healthy work culture that encourages excellence and work-life balance,” says Layne Young, senior supervising therapist, and general counsel at RCBM.
During Saal’s tenure, RCBM has been able to extend its services into clinical trials, outcomes research, and accessible diagnostic assessment. RCBM serves its patients by employing a medical model to serve individuals and families throughout the state of Michigan.
As CEO, Saal will be responsible for clinic operations, program development, quality assurance, insurance partnerships, outcomes research, and technological integration. Saal will also manage the growing RCBM team. Mental health clinicians face high rates of burnout and Saal will work to support RCBM staff through the challenges they face.
“Everyone in the clinic turns to Jaime many times throughout the day to help resolve clinical and business-related issues. She wears so many hats, but mentorship is one of her greatest strengths,” says Melissa Oleshansky, senior staff psychologist.
Saal is currently spearheading several initiatives, including Medabolic, a personalized health promotion program, and MedaData, a behavioral health database for research and scholarship. Saal also serves as the COO of MindMetrix, an RCBM startup.
Saal is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She completed her master’s degree in counseling at Indiana University. Saal also holds certifications in executive healthcare leadership and healthcare change management from Cornell University.
