Lawrence R. Jordan, managing partner of the Ann Arbor office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss PC, has been elected to the council of the arts, communication, entertainment and sports section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Jordan, of Ann Arbor, focuses his practice on intellectual property, information technology, Internet, domain names, technology transfers, biotech, publishing and entertainment law.  With more than 30 years of practice, Jordan has represented companies, foundations and creative individuals in a broad range of intellectual property matters.

The arts, communication, entertainment and sports section of the State Bar of Michigan provides education, information, and analysis about issues of concern in the arts and entertainment industry through meetings, seminars, public service programs and newsletters.

Jordan is a frequent author and speaker at industry forums, and an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and Fellows of the Michigan State Bar Foundation. He sits on the Technology Advisory Board for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the Board of Directors for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, is a lifetime member of the Friends of Ann Arbor Library, and a pro bono attorney for Jazzistry.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree from Wayne State University Law School.
