SOUTHFIELD — Sara Schimke has joined Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss PC as an associate in the firm’s estate planning and probate practice group.
Previously, Schimke was a partner of a law firm in Troy, where she was responsible for the council and representation of a multitude of clients with estate planning needs.
As an associate, Schimke will focus her practice on elder law—including long term care planning, Medicaid planning, and veteran’s benefits. She will also counsel and represent clients with special needs planning, blended families, tax planning and real estate succession planning.
Schimke, of Chesterfield, graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and earned her juris doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she served as a Student Bar Association senator and academic chairperson, and a teaching assistant at the Estate Planning Clinic in Auburn Hills.
