Jaffe Attorney Appointed to Michigan Parkinson Foundation Board of Directors


Sara Schimke, an associate with Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, has been appointed as a board member to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation and will be responsible for advising and educating Parkinson’s patients and their families, legal endeavors of the foundation, and participating in board deliberations.

As an associate at Jaffe’s Southfield location Schimke practices elder law where she focuses on long term care planning, Medicaid planning, and Veterans’ benefits. Schimke also works as an adjunct professor at Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a member of the Financial & State Planning Council of metro Detroit, and an accredited attorney with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

Schimke, of Chesterfield Township, earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in political science from Northern Michigan University and a doctor of law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School a Western Michigan University.
