TROY — To further its targeted growth in the metro-Detroit area, InPro Insurance Group, a Troy, Mich.-based independent insurance agency, Monday announced the acquisition of Industrial Insurance Services, Inc. of Troy.

As an independent agency, InPro represents many of the nation’s leading, top-rated property and casualty insurance companies, including Travelers, Hartford, Hanover, Accident Fund, Philadelphia, and Auto Owners, in addition to all major healthcare insurers.

Through the agreement, the Industrial Insurance Services team and book of health insurance business will be integrated into InPro’s existing personal, commercial, and life and health business. The terms of the agreement, which became effective July 1, were not disclosed.

As a family-owned company with an established local history, the Industrial Insurance Services acquisition is a good opportunity to further expand InPro’s local reach and capabilities,” said Dave Goodman, president, InPro Insurance Group. “Its established healthcare insurance business will strengthen our existing book of business and be a key driver of InPro’s strategic growth in the metro-Detroit area.

The Industrial Insurance Services team – including Paul Pomerleau, Chuck Pomerleau, Kristin Hendren, and Kate DiAntonio – will join InPro’s Troy office, gaining access to the company’s portfolio of commercial and personal insurance products and resources.

“Given its capabilities, history, and culture, I believe InPro is an ideal fit for the Industrial Insurance Services team and client base,” said Paul Pomerleau, president, Industrial Insurance Services. “In addition to the exemplary customer service they have come to expect, our clients will now have the benefit of InPro’s vast resources, including a wide variety of personal and commercial insurance options and access to top-rated property and casualty products.”

Industrial Insurance Services’ clients will not encounter any service or policy changes as a result of the acquisition. To ensure a seamless transition, Industrial Insurance Services phone calls, web visits, and mail will be forwarded accordingly. InPro currently employs 28 professionals counseling clients regarding personal, commercial, and life and health insurance needs.
