HOLLAND — The enchanting experience of Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island is a spoonful away.
Holland-based Hudsonville Ice Cream welcomes warmer weather with its newest Summer Limited Edition flavor, Grand Hotel Pecan Ball. Inspired by the famous dessert of Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Grand Hotel Pecan Ball ice cream combines Grand Hotel fudge swirls and premium pecans into Hudsonville Ice Cream’s original vanilla ice cream. The new flavor will be available in grocery stores that carry Hudsonville Ice Cream just in time for the hotel’s summer opening.
“My family and I are extremely honored that Hudsonville Ice Cream would develop and create a Grand Hotel Pecan Ball flavored ice cream in honor of our famous dessert,” said Dan Musser III, president of Grand Hotel. “It has been our privilege to work with another family owned Michigan business in creating and opening our Sadie’s Ice Cream Parlor. For years we have thought about a way to bring the Grand Pecan Ball to guests even when they are not on Mackinac Island. Thanks to Hudsonville’s creative and meticulous team, we are very proud that this new ice cream flavor will allow people to enjoy a taste of Grand Hotel in their homes.”
Hudsonville Ice Cream partnered with Grand Hotel in 2013 for the grand opening of Sadie’s Ice Cream Parlor, and is the exclusive ice cream sold at Grand Hotel, as well as its dining rooms and five restaurants located on Mackinac Island.
