Honigman Welcomes 6 New Attorneys

DETROIT — Six new attorneys, who have recently been admitted to practice in Michigan, have joined Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP in its Detroit office. 

They are:

Amber A. Hay is a member of Honigman’s Corporate Department.  She earned a JD from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan. Hay was the 2010 Jack Miller Memorial Scholar, a U of M scholarship named in memory of one of Honigman’s founding partners.

Ahmad Huda is a member of Honigman’s Litigation Department. He earned a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a B.A., magna cum laude and with highest honors, in English and American literature from New York University, where he is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While in law school, Huda served as a judicial intern for Judge Harold Baer Jr., U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Ryan A. Jackson is a member of Honigman’s Corporate Department. He earned a JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Jackson earned his B.A., with distinction, in economics from the University of Michigan. During law school, he served as a judicial intern for Judge Mark A. Goldsmith, when he was a member of the Oakland County Circuit Court bench, and for Judge Richard B. Halloran in Wayne County Circuit Court.

Jeremy D. Lockhart is a member of Honigman’s Litigation Department. He earned a JD, manga cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A., cum laude, in sociology-criminology from Ohio University. While attending law school, Lockhart served as a judicial extern for Judge Arlene Singer in the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals. He also was an undergraduate legal intern in the Ohio Public Defender’s office. 

Janet Soave is a member of Honigman’s Insurance Department. She earned a JD, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and is a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu honorary society. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan. While attending law school, Soave was a legal intern at BP America Inc., Golub Capital and the National Association of Realtors. 

Alexander Whang is a member of Honigman’s Corporate Department.  He earned a JD, cum laude, from the Indiana University Mauer School of Law and a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan. While attending law school, Whang served as a legal intern in the Indiana Department of Education.
